ShopStream Connect from Snap-on Extends Handheld Diagnostic Tools’ Capabilities

LINCOLNSHIRE, IL — Snap-on has introduced ShopStream Connect, the company’s new PC-based software that extends the capabilities of its handheld diagnostic tools. Technicians can use ShopStream Connect to transfer, save, manage, review, annotate, e-mail and print files that were saved or recorded on their Snap-on MODIS, SOLUS, ETHOS or Vantage PRO.

Snap-on is providing this application as a no-charge download that anyone can install to view files recorded on their diagnostic tools.

Technicians can record up to 2,000 frame scanner movies on MODIS and SOLUS, and 230 frame movies on ETHOS, and use ShopStream Connect to customize the way they view this vital diagnostic information, including the ability to display up to 16 graphs onscreen at once and drag and drop parameters from the list to customize the display order.

For MODIS and Vantage PRO lab and ignition scope recordings, technicians have the ability to auto play, step through frames and pages, zoom and use cursors to help analyze their waveforms. They also have the option to display the grid and scales, inverse the colors for printing and move each channel’s vertical placement.

With ShopStream Connect, they can also create custom printouts of their scan data that they can share with the vehicle owner by stapling it to the invoice, or save it with the vehicle’s history.

“Using ShopStream Connect helps isolate glitches with the advanced display options, allows you to share your results and manage a reference library of vehicle and component recordings,” said Gerry Beronja, director, Global Marketing – Snap-on Diagnostics.

To download the software, visit software.snapon.com. This application is available at no charge, so anyone can install the software and play files that may be e-mailed to them or downloaded from different technicians’ forums, such as the Ask-a-tech forums in Tech Central at diagnostics.snapon.com.
