Shell Lubricants Announces Senior Appointments

Four senior executives take on new roles across the globe for the Shell Lubricants business.

Selda Gunsel has been appointed as general manager of products and quality in Shell’s Lubricants Supply Chain organization. In her new assignment, Gunsel will work to drive continuous improvement in the design, sourcing, development and deployment of Shell lubricant products and the product portfolio. Previous to this role, she was vice president of global commercial technology. She will continue to be based out of Houston.

Andrew Hepher takes over as vice president of global commercial technology. Previously, Hepher was general manager for consumer lubricants marketing, and brings an established track record of building strong businesses and teams to Shell Lubricants’ technology team. Hepher began his career as a biotechnologist in Shell Research in the U.K., having been previously employed on a Shell-funded post-doctoral fellowship at Durham University. Since then, he has worked in a wide variety of commercial roles, including assignments in the Caribbean, U.S., Germany and The Netherlands. Hepher also was previously vice president of strategy and portfolio for Shell Energy Europe and then the general manager for the B2B lubricants business in North America. He previously led the global accounts team for the automotive sector, working with companies such as Hyundai, Renault-Nissan and Toyota. He is based in London.

Carol Chen, currently marketing general manager for the China/HK Lubricants business, will take over Hepher’s current role as general manager for consumer lubricants marketing. Chen played an important role in energizing the China lubricants marketing organization. During her career, she has established a strong track record of developing winning brands and delivering strong business growth. Prior to joining Shell, she had 20 years of work experience in Proctor & Gamble marketing and worked in four different locations including assignments in China, Canada, the U.S. and Singapore. Chen will move to be based in London.

Lastly, Roger Moulding, current vice president for global key accounts and marketing, will change the areas he covers to global lubricants marketing and lubricants sales for Europe, Middle East and Africa. Moulding has worked in a number of international business roles and set up Shell’s global key accounts business. He will continue to be based in London.
