AutoPartSource Sold to Amalfe Brothers

Undercar parts manufacturer AutoPartSource was acquired by Amalfe Brothers Inc. of New Jersey, effective Feb. 23. Amalfe Brothers Inc. is a family owned business with more than 60 years of automotive aftermarket experience that includes manufacturing, wholesale distribution and retail operations. AutoPartSource was formed in 2004 from assets aftermarket business owner Frank Pagano purchased from the former Qualitee International. The company supplies filters, brakes, clutches, drums/rotors and related products to warehouse distributors in the automotive aftermarket.

AutoPartSource Names New VP and General Manager

National undercar parts manufacturer AutoPartSource has appointed Stephen Schnell as vice president and general manager. Most recently with General Motors, Schnell brings more than 35 years of experience in the domestic and international arenas to AutoPartSource. Schnell has led key initiatives in strategic planning, business planning, marketing, competitive analysis, new business development, mergers and acquisitions and finance. His last assignment at GM was as the chief financial officer of GM Service Parts Operations International, a $300 million distributor of automotive spare parts.

AutoPartSource and New World Friction, wholly owned subsidiaries of MomentumUSA, have secured a $3.6 million line of operating financing in conjunction with the April acquisition of certain operating assets of Qualitee International and Novatek Manufacturing. Together with the $1.6 million of initial financing, the companies now have a combined capitalization of more than $5.2 million.
