MAP Board, Advisory Council for 2011-12 Introduced
The MAP Advisory Council, created in October 2010, is an independent self-governing body, which advises the AMRA Board of Directors on all MAP-related matters, concerns and issues identified by the council.
AMRA Annual Member Meeting to be Held in Vegas at the Start of Industry Week
The annual meeting will begin at 8 a.m. with a continental breakfast, followed by the general business portion of the meeting. This will include the installation of new board members and updates from various AMRA/MAP committees. After a networking break, featured speaker Jeff Anderson, director of consulting and analytics for Experian Automotive, will take the podium.

CARB Tire Pressure Regulation Goes Into Effect
Along with other stipulations, this regulation, commonly known as the Tire Pressure Regulation, will require automotive service providers to check and inflate each vehicle’s tires to the recommended tire pressure rating at the time of performing any automotive maintenance or repair service, as well as to indicate on the vehicle service invoice that a tire inflation service was completed.
Fifteenth Annual GAAS Looks at the Next Generation of Customers and Employees
The day’s presentations began with three aftermarket service veterans tackling the topic of “How Automotive Repair Service Chains Are Gaining Traction in Today’s Market.” The session was moderated by Barry Soltz, president, AMRA/MAP. Panelists were Joe Biggie, vice president of strategy and development, Just Brakes; Larry Magee, chairman, CEO and president, Bridgestone Retail Operations; and John Warzecha, senior vice president, franchise business development, Midas Inc.

The lone new member is Dave Baier (Monro Muffler and Brake), current AMRA chairman, who was installed as the vice chairman of the MAP board.

MAP to Introduce Three New Publications During AAIW in Vegas

The new publications include brochures titled “The MAP Process” and “Power Steering Systems,” along with a Uniform Inspection & Communication Standards (UICS) manual titled “Routine Inspection Reference Guide.”
