SAF-HOLLAND Names Mike Kamsickas President, Powered Vehicle Systems

Mike Kamsickas will succeed Jack Gisinger, who is retiring at the end of the year.

SAF Holland - Mike KamsickasSAF-HOLLAND, a global manufacturer of trailer and truck suspensions, fifth wheels, landing gear and coupling products, has named Mike Kamsickas as president of the Powered Vehicle Systems Business Unit, succeeding Jack Gisinger, who is retiring at the end of the year.

As president, Kamsickas will be responsible for the global operations, product engineering, OEM sales and strategic planning for the Powered Vehicle Systems unit.

With 30 years of experience in the automotive and heavy-duty commercial vehicle industries, Kamsickas comes to SAF-HOLLAND from Dayco Products. At Dayco, he held various leadership positions including president of Global Operations Group; president of North American OE; and executive vice president. Prior to that, he held senior leadership positions with Faurecia, Valeo and Lear.

“Mike’s extensive global business experience will benefit SAF-HOLLAND as we continue to focus on creating greater value for our customers,” said Detlef Borghardt, CEO, SAF-HOLLAND Inc.

Kamsickas’ office will be located in Muskegon, Michigan. He holds a bachelor’s degree in business administration from Central Michigan University and a master’s degree in advanced management from Michigan State University.

Gisinger will maintain his role as president of the American subsidiary SAF-HOLLAND Inc. until his retirement at the end of 2015. During his 35-year tenure with SAF-HOLLAND, he played a significant role in the development of the company, including the merger of SAF and the HOLLAND Group in December 2006, the company’s public offering in 2007, the successful navigation through the global economic downturn and establishing the strength the company is experiencing today.

“Jack’s guidance during this time will ensure a smooth transition for Mike in his new role,” said Borghardt. “Having Jack work closely with Mike through the end of the year will ensure continuity of the business.”
