PHILADELPHIA Pep Boys has selected Distribution Service Technologies, Inc. (DST) as its exclusive partner to provide an online order placement service for its Pep Express eCommerce customers using www.pepexpress.com.
Pep Express, the commercial division of Pep Boys, aims to provide fast delivery of parts, tires, tools, shop equipment and additional merchandise to businesses across the country. With the DST product, Pep Express is now the only parts supplier to offer tires for “hot shot” delivery through a website that includes photographs for tread pattern matching, according to the two companies.
Built on DST’s TurboParts eCommerce engine, www.pepexpress.com will feature exclusive content and functionality to allow Pep Boys to do business with commercial customers 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.
“DST presented Pep Boys with a comprehensive plan that enables us to deliver an eCommerce solution that encourages full usage throughout our organization," said Chris McErlane, assistant vice president of commercial. “DST’s proven track record of delivering results, along with their technology and knowledge of the marketplace and our customers’ needs, made the selection process that much easier.”
"We are excited to partner with Pep Boys to provide their customers with a customized version of one of the fastest and easiest-to-use electronic ordering tools available,” said John Sidlauskas, DST vice president of sales. “TurboParts will seamlessly enhance Pep Boys’ current eCommerce capabilities, increase supply chain efficiency and help ensure the continued growth and success for Pep Boys and its commercial customers.”
