Former SCRS Executive Director Joins Allstate

Allstate Insurance Co. recently announced that Dan Risley has joined the Allstate claims organization as a staff claim analyst. Previously, Risely served as the executive director of the Society of Collision Repair Specialists. While initially on rotation in a developmental capacity, Risely will be involved in several areas of the claim operation, including claim customer satisfaction, Allstate’s Direct Repair Program and the Sterling and Tech-Cor businesses.

2008 SCRS Annual Meeting Features Two Presentations of Importance to Collision Repairers

A pair of presentations on topics vital to today’s collision repairers will highlight the 2008 Annual Meeting of the Society of Collision Repair Specialists (SCRS), scheduled for Tuesday and Wednesday, April 15 and 16, at the Crowne Plaza Hotel in Philadelphia, Pa. A discussion on Lean Manufacturing, a concept that has recently taken hold in the collision repair industry, will take place at 8:30 a.m. on Wednesday. Also on Wednesday, beginning at 10:15 a.m., immediately following the panel discussion, Cindy Fillman, director of the Pennsylvania Office of Insurance Consumer Liaison, will speak about the role of the Department of Insurance and how it can help collision repairers.

SCRS to Host National Industry Issues Forum

The Society of Collision Repair Specialists (SCRS) will host the 2005 National Industry Issues Forum (NIIF) on Wednesday, April 13, at the Westin Charlotte Hotel in Charlotte, North Carolina. The meeting will be held in conjunction with the Collision Industry Conference (CIC), the SCRS Annual Meeting/Awards Luncheon and “Accepting the Challenge” (a fun filled event pitting the industry’s most knowledgeable professionals against each other in a battle of wits over meaningless topics).

SCRS Appoints 2004-05 Executive Board and Officers

The Society of Collision Repair Specialists (SCRS) has appointed its board of directors and executive officers for the year 2004-2005. The election took place at the SCRS Annual Meeting on April 8 at the Opryland Hotel in Nashville, Tenn. For the second year in a row, Lou DiLisio was elected SCRS chairman of the board, an occurrence that has happened only twice before — first, when inaugural Chairman Don Caldwell presided over consecutive terms in 1982-83 and 1983-84 and a second time, when Chairman Bob Jones held the office in 1990-91 and 1991-92.

Indiana Auto Body Association Joins SCRS Affiliate Ranks

The Indiana Auto Body Association (IABA), a new organization founded to address a gap in the professional needs of the state’s repairers, has announced its affiliation with the Society of Collision Repair Specialists (SCRS). Founded on January 15, the IABA currently includes more than 60 members, consisting mostly of collision repair professionals and a small number of suppliers.
