OBITUARY: Richard Andrews, Former President Of Stemco

Richard Andrews, an innovative leader and consummate gentleman of the industry, passed away on Feb. 9 at age 70 after an extended illness. Industry peers remember Andrews as an astute businessman and executive with a big heart.

Richard Andrews, an innovative leader and consummate gentleman of the industry, passed away on Feb. 9 at age 70 after an extended illness. Industry peers remember Andrews as an astute businessman and executive with a big heart.
 
Andrews’ career spanned decades in the industry, from Champion/Cooper to his nearly 10 years at the helm of Stemco LP, of EnPro. His leadership positively influenced those around him, in and outside of his company, and his calm demeanor was his trademark in business matters.
 
As a lean practitioner, Andrews assisted many executives in adapting and benchmarking their companies. Andrews played an active role as a facilitator during the formative years of Heavy Duty Aftermarket Week.
 
Andrews was a longtime member of the Heavy Duty Business Forum, an active member of HDMA, a board member of CVSN, Phillips Industries, the Longview, Texas, Chamber of Commerce, the Longview Economic Development Corp., the HD Xchange and several other industry concerns.
 
He is survived by his wife, daughter, son and five grandchildren.
 
A celebration of Andrews’ life will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, Feb. 13, at Greggton United Methodist Church in Longview, Texas, with a visitation the hour prior. Memorial contributions may be made in his
name to Greggton United Methodist Church or Longview Cancer Center. A memorial guestbook may be signed at www.raderfh.com.
