FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla. — National Performance Warehouse (NPW) has reported that its inaugural Florida Automotive Speed Truck (FAST) EXPO drew a "brave and hardy" crowd despite record-breaking low temperatures in Florida last week. Retailers, jobbers, technicians and enthusiasts warmed up at the Broward County Convention Center in Fort Lauderdale, Fla., Jan. 10 during the inaugural FAST EXPO where the mercury dropped to 34 degrees with the wind chill at 18 degrees.
Headlining the FAST EXPO was former NHRA champion Daryl Gwynn, the Miami Heat Dancers and more than 100 automotive repair, performance enhancing and truck styling manufacturers. Well-known NASCAR and NHRA "go fast" products from names like Autometer, Edelbrock, Moroso and MSD, joined off-road favorites such as Bestop, Rancho and Big Country, as some of the industry’s leading suppliers to exhibit.
The event was sponsored by NPW, a leading supplier to Florida and the Southeast’s jobber, racing and accessory markets with locations in Miami and Clearwater.
In addition to the ability to network with the manufacturer owners, representatives and staff, attendees had access to a car show held on the grounds; saw many unique and modified cars and trucks on the show floor and everyone had a chance to win one of the scores of door prizes.
Larry Pacey, president of NPW, said the show exceeded expectations and announced dates for the 2011 and 2012 shows. The 2011 FAST EXPO will be held on Sunday, Jan. 30, and the 2012 show will be Sunday, Jan. 29. Pacey indicated that future events would be bigger and better with more manufacturers and added attractions for those automotive enthusiasts and industry professionals who want to stay connected to the latest trends and innovations.
