MIDLAND, Mich. The annual Northwood University International Auto Show (NUIAS) is celebrating its 50th anniversary this year. The theme for this year’s largest outdoor new car auto show is “Cruising Through the Golden Anniversary.” The event will feature more than 500 new domestic and imported cars, trucks, recreational vehicles, vans, experimental and specialty vehicles, as well as automotive aftermarket products.
NUIAS General Chair Adam LaFurgey stated, “This year’s theme, ‘Cruising Through the Golden Anniversary,’ really focuses on the significance of this milestone event. We want to celebrate the past, present and future of the show and honor all of the hard work and dedication demonstrated by the students who have invested their talent into making this show such a success. This is a very special show for many people, and we want to make it one to remember.”
With approximately 50,000 guests annually, the NUIAS is an event for the entire family. Vice Chair of Operations Chelsea Shartle added, “This year we are not only celebrating the 50th anniversary of the auto show but also acknowledging how far the industry has come over the past five decades. In the 21st century, vehicles are a part of our everyday lives. The show creates an enjoyable experience for our guests to see a variety of manufacturers and vehicles in one location without sales pressure.” Throughout the three-day event, attendees will indulge themselves in the vehicles of the future as well as reminisce with the vehicles of yesterday.
The auto show will be held the weekend of Sept. 27-29 on the Michigan Campus of Northwood University located at 4000 Whiting Drive in Midland. It includes a Classic Car Show on Sunday, Sept. 29, and is organized and executed by the students of Northwood University.
The show is free to attend and also offers free parking. For more information and a schedule of events, visit www.northwood.edu/autoshow/, “Like” the Northwood University International Auto Show on Facebook or call 989-837-4823.
