NGK Spark Plugs (U.S.A.) Announces New President

Norihiko Adachi has held numerous positions throughout his many years with NGK, including assignments in Europe and the U.S., moving up steadily throughout the years. His role before the promotion was general manager, sales & marketing, Headquarters, Automotive Components Groups, Japan. During his time as general manager, Adachi was instrumental in overseeing all sales and marketing efforts.

WIXOM, Mich. — NGK Spark Plugs (U.S.A.) Inc. has announced the appointment of Norihiko Adachi to president and CEO, effective June 29. Norihiko Adachi becomes president and CEO of NGK Spark Plugs (U.S.A.) on June 29.

Adachi has held numerous positions throughout his many years with NGK, including assignments in Europe and the U.S., moving up steadily throughout the years.

His role before the promotion was general manager, sales & marketing, Headquarters, Automotive Components Groups, Japan. During his time as general manager, Adachi was instrumental in overseeing all sales and marketing efforts.

In his new role, Adachi will oversee all functions for NGK Spark Plugs (U.S.A.) Inc. He replaces Hideyuki Koiso, who is returning to Japan on July 25 to assume the position of director of sales and marketing, Headquarters Office, Automotive Components Groups for NGK Spark Plug Co. LTD.  

Adachi began his career with NGK in 1979, at NGK headquarters in Nagoya, Japan. There, he served in the Service Department, Spark Plug Division, Automotive Components Groups.

In 1988, Adachi started his overseas career when he came to NGK U.S.A., where he worked in Aftermarket and OES Sales until 1995. After his first assignment in the U.S, he transitioned to general manager of OEM Sales and Marketing for NGK Europe GmbH until 2006.

Adachi’s favorite motto is: “If you have a mind to change something, you can do it. If you do not want to improve, it will never happen … to see is to believe.”
