Ford recalls trucks following airbag death. The automaker has recalled nearly 400,000 trucks that could contain the now notorious defective Takata airbag inflators, according to this MSN.com report.
Takata’s CEO is on his way out. As a result of the continued deaths connected to Takata’s defective airbag inflators, the supplier is preparing for the departure of its CEO, according to Automotive News.
Fiat U.S. hourly workers to get $4,000 in profit sharing. In happier news, Fiat Chrysler Automotive has been making headlines this past week with news of its many initiatives to overhaul its brands. Today, the Detroit Free Press reports that Fiat’s U.S. Hourly workers will receive $4,000 in profit sharing checks in February. This is a 45 percent increase for the workers from last year.
Somebody call Marty McFly – the Delorean is coming back into production. Thanks to the “Low Volume Motor Vehicle Manufacturers Act” that was passed last December, the Delorean is preparing to go back in to production. The specialty automaker is currently looking for parts suppliers to get the vehicle back on the assembly line by 2017.
