Max Douglas Joins Bar’s Products as National Sales Manager

Douglas brings 40 years of automotive aftermarket industry sales and marketing experience to this role, in which he has day-to-day responsibility for the U.S. and Canadian markets and directs the efforts of Bar's Products' regional managers and rep groups.

HOLLY, Mich. – Bar’s Products has announced the appointment of Max Douglas to a new position as national sales manager for Bar’s Products, manufacturer of Bar’s Leaks and Rislone premium automotive chemicals. Douglas brings 40 years of automotive aftermarket industry sales and marketing experience to this role, in which he has day-to-day responsibility for the U.S. and Canadian markets and directs the efforts of Bar’s Products’ regional managers and rep groups.

“A real professional, Max comes to us with an incredible background of experience, knowledge and success, which includes time served at key brand names such as Berryman, CRC and most recently, Blue Magic,” said Jim Moffitt, Bar’s Products vice president of sales and marketing. “I am thrilled he was persuaded to join our team.”

Douglas has a long record of successfully increasing sales and building market share for a number of leading aftermarket companies. In addition to holding sales and marketing management positions for some of the industry’s leading brands, he also spent many years working for one of the largest and most-respected manufacturers’ agencies in the United States. This experience provides him with great insight into what commission-only manufacturers’ reps go through on a regular basis, he says, enabling him to work closely with them to meet mutual sales goals.

Douglas is a member of the Automotive Warehouse Distributors Association (AWDA) and the Automotive Aftermarket Industry Association (AAIA). He has served on many product and marketing boards, as well as several manufacturers’ rep councils. He has earned numerous manufacturer and customer awards, including being named sales rep or manufacturers’ rep of the year by various companies eight times.

Douglas attended the University of Wyoming in Laramie and the University of Maryland (European Division) in Chateauroux, France. He is a Vietnam veteran of the U.S. Army, having served in the 173rd Airborne Brigade.
