MAP Board, Advisory Council for 2011-12 Introduced

The MAP Advisory Council, created in October 2010, is an independent self-governing body, which advises the AMRA Board of Directors on all MAP-related matters, concerns and issues identified by the council.

FALLS CHURCH, Va. – The Motorist Assurance Program (MAP) recently introduced the five current members of its Board of Trustees for 2011-12 at the Annual Membership Meeting for MAP and the Automotive Maintenance and Repair Association (AMRA) at the Monte Carlo Hotel and Casino in Las Vegas.
                                   
Below is a full list of the five current MAP Board members for 2011-12:
                                   
·      Chairman – Dave Baier, Monro Muffler and Brake
·      Sec./Treasurer – Darrell Rowe, Bridgestone Retail Operations
·      Ken Billings, Raytheon Professional Services
·      Glen Nicholson, TBC Retail Group
·      Elizabeth Owen, NACAA
                                   
In addition, the MAP Advisory Council for 2011-12 was introduced, with former AMRA and MAP Board member Carl Cannova (President of Carl’s Car Clinic) added to the original five members. The MAP Advisory Council, created in October 2010, is an independent self-governing body, which advises the AMRA Board of Directors on all MAP-related matters, concerns and issues identified by the council. The AMRA Board of Directors may, from time to time, request specific input from the advisory council on topics related to automotive aftermarket service and repair, or general areas related to consumer outreach.

The Annual Membership Meeting kicked off Automotive Industry Week events for AMRA/MAP. Several industry trade shows were held during the week of Oct. 29-Nov. 4, including the International Big R Show & Powertrain Expo (sponsored by APRA and ATRA), AAPEX and SEMA. AMRA/MAP was an exhibitor at AAPEX.
