Manufacturing Technology Asia 2018 To Be Launched In Thailand

The event will highlight the latest technologies and solutions in advanced manufacturing and feature a complete showcase of industrial equipment and solutions.

Steady investment in Thailand’s manufacturing sector has enabled the country to become a manufacturing powerhouse and Southeast Asia’s second largest economy. In recent years, the country has moved from basic production to higher-value manufacturing in value-added industries such as ICT, high-value electronics and green automobiles.

In light of this, MTA – Manufacturing Technology Asia – the premier industry series of events, will be staged from May 16-19 at the Bangkok International Trade & Exhibition Center (BITEC). Held alongside INTERMACH and SUBCON THAILAND 2018, MTA2018 will bring together more than 1,700 exhibitors from 45 countries and regions. The event will highlight the latest technologies and solutions in advanced manufacturing and fwill eature a complete showcase of industrial equipment and solutions.

“Over the years, Thailand has rapidly risen among the ranks in the region to become a manufacturing powerhouse and Southeast Asia’s second largest economy. A key contributing factor to this is the move of the sector toward high-end manufacturing, which has attracted international and regional investment. To ensure the sector’s continued growth, local companies need to continually invest and upgrade their capabilities to boost productivity, move up the value chain and be better equipped to compete in the global arena. MTA2018, together with INTERMACH and SUBCON THAILAND, is the platform that will connect the manufacturing sector to international expertise and best practices that will help spur further growth,” said William Lim, project director of engineering events at UBM SES, organizer of MTA2018.

Event Highlights

Focusing on advanced manufacturing technologies, MTA2018 will highlight international brands from Germany, Japan, Korea, Singapore, Sweden, Taiwan, the U.S. and many more. In addition, the event will present technologies and solutions in smart manufacturing, precision engineering, higher automation, metalworking and tools and tooling technologies.

To date, international group pavilions will come from Korea, Singapore and Taiwan. The Taiwan pavilion will showcase equipment, solutions and services from the Machine Tool & Accessory Builders’ Association (TMBA) and Taiwan Fluid Power Association (TFPA). The Korea pavilion will see companies led by the Korea International Trade Association, Daegu & Gyeongbuk Center (KITA DAEGU).

The latest industrial equipment, technology and solutions also will be introduced at INTERMACH – ASEAN’s largest industrial machinery and subcontracting exhibition. Now in its 35th edition, the exhibition attracts decision-makers and buyers from across Thailand and the region, says the organizers.

SUBCON THAILAND, co-located with INTERMACH, is ASEAN’s largest subcontracting and business matching event. Organized by the Thailand Board of Investment (BOI) in conjunction with UBM Asia (Thailand) and the Thai Subcontracting Promotion Association, the event saw more than 6,400 business partnerships forged at the last edition.

Other highlights include forums and seminars designed to tap into knowledge and experiences from the international manufacturing industry community.

MTA2018, INTERMACH and SUBCON THAILAND are expected to attract more than 42,000 attendees from 47 countries and regions.
