Lisa Bahash, President, Ride Control LLC, to Keynote Frost & Sullivan Panel Discussion at AAPEX

Bahash's keynote presentation, titled "Trust me ...," will highlight the need to build and protect brand reputation in today's market. The event is scheduled to take place during AAPEX at 5 p.m. on Nov. 3 in the Veronese Ballroom of the Venetian Hotel in Las Vegas.

MOUNTAIN VIEW, Calif. — Frost & Sullivan has announced that Lisa Bahash, president of Ride Control LLC, will serve as the keynote speaker at its cocktail reception and panel discussion on Driving Aftermarket Industry Growth Through New Dynamic and Business Models. The event is scheduled to take place during AAPEX at 5 p.m. on Nov. 3 in the Veronese Ballroom of the Venetian Hotel in Las Vegas. The event will provide an interactive discussion on effective evolving and emerging business models that change the way aftermarket participants do business.

Bahash’s keynote presentation, titled "Trust me…," will highlight the need to build and protect brand reputation in today’s market.  Building this trust is not simply a process of listing key attributes for your customers, it is an organizational and even industry-wide process of developing a culture of quality, performance, safety and service, and communicating those beliefs both internally and externally, according to Bahash.

"The aftermarket supply chain model has changed dramatically over the years, but our customers’ basic needs have not," she said. "They still demand a quality product that will keep their vehicles on the road, safely and efficiently."

Bahash added that the global marketplace brings tremendous raw cost-reduction opportunities to the industry, yet the consumer may be unaware of the threats and disadvantages of seeking the lowest cost parts.

"Fly-by-night importers, and even respected members of our industry, delivering parts with unverified quality levels and unknown performance in real vehicles, threaten the end-user as well as our industry’s reputation," Bahash noted. "We must continually work to reaffirm the value of our brands by cultivating this culture, and ensuring that the customer is keenly aware of the brand promise we strive to deliver."

Bahash was appointed president of Ride Control LLC in March 2007. Before being named the president, she served as the general manager for Gabriel Ride Control Global Aftermarket within ArvinMeritor’s Light Vehicle Systems business group. With more than 20 years of experience automotive and related spaces, Bahash continues to have a proven track record of improving profitability, leading business realignment efforts, integrating businesses operations and revenue growth in new markets and products.

The panel for Driving Aftermarket Industry Growth Through New Dynamic and Business Models will include representatives from key aftermarket business channels, combining parts manufacturers, parts distributors, retailers, service providers, original equipment service and tool and equipment providers.

Do you speak spark plug? Most part numbers are a meaningless series of numbers and letters. But spark plugs have a language on the side of the box that can tell you what’s inside. Like any other language, there are dialects.

The nomenclature of spark plug part numbers can tell you everything from size (diameter and reach) to what materials are on the center and ground electrode. Like learning a new language, knowing how to translate spark plug numbers can open up a new way to inventory and sell spark plugs for counter professionals.
