Jason Popillion Joins GCommerce as Chief Technology Officer

Des Moines, IA-based technology solutions provider GCommerce has appointed Jason Popillion as chief technology officer effective March 29. Jason brings a broad array of experience in technology software development, including electronic commerce, electronic data interchange (EDI), telecommunications, finance, higher education and government. His more recent work in developing an EDI and Customer Relationship Management (CRM) system for the State of Iowa has been nominated for eight national awards including CIO magazine’s top 100 innovations, Harvard Innovation and Gartner–High Performance Workplace awards.

Jason brings a broad array of experience in technology software development, including electronic commerce, electronic data interchange (EDI), telecommunications, finance, higher education and government. His more recent work in developing an EDI and Customer Relationship Management (CRM) system for the State of Iowa has been nominated for eight national awards including CIO magazine’s top 100 innovations, Harvard Innovation and Gartner–High Performance Workplace awards.

Prior to joining GCommerce, Jason served as director of technical development for Data Transmission Network, a business-to-business electronic commerce and information services provider, where he designed a disaster recovery/redundant failover model, directed software development efforts and engineered network infrastructures. He was also a pioneer of thin-client web development and graphical user interfaces at Iowa State University, where he produced multiple publications on his work.
