Innova Debuts Pro Carscan Line of Tools

New line aims to help professional automotive techs diagnose vehicles more quickly and accurately.

IRVINE, Calif. – Innova Electronics Corp. has announced the debut of its new line of professional-grade automotive diagnostic tools, marketed under the Innova Pro CarScan name.

This series of handheld devices, which can be found at www.pro.innova.com, has been designed from the ground up by professional automotive technicians for professional technicians, according to Innova.

These tools will help automotive technicians efficiently and effectively diagnose and repair “check engine” problems on 1981 to current vehicles; and troubleshoot anti-lock brake system (ABS) and supplemental restraint system (SRS) problems on newer-model OBD2 vehicles. Distributed by Equus Products Inc., the Innova Pro CarScan line will be sold exclusively through professional channels, and will range in price from $58 to $550.

“Let’s face it … time is money. That’s especially true when it comes to diagnosing today’s vehicles quickly, efficiently and correctly the first time,” said Brendan McShane, marketing manager for Equus Products Inc. “In response to skyrocketing demand from the professional automotive sector, Innova’s team of ASE-certified technicians has been meticulously designing, developing and testing this new line of tools. The professional techs who have beta-tested the Innova Pro CarScan products tell us they are able to repair at least one more vehicle per day thanks to these tools.”

McShane adds that while the new Innova Pro tools retain the affordable price point, quality design, top-notch customer support and recognizable packaging that Innova customers have come to expect over the past decade, the Pro CarScan line is a radical departure from the previous offering of Innova handheld diagnostic products.

“Rather than adapting earlier models for pro use, the Innova Pro CarScan line has been developed from the ground up by professionals, with features and functions that will be appreciated by the guys in the trenches.”

Each tool features a state-of-the-art processing chip that makes diagnosing vehicles faster than ever; new, internal and external architecture to stand up to the rigors of daily shop use; and bigger screens with easier-to-read information. They also feature a newly designed button configuration and user interface in response to requests from an all ASE-certified beta testing staff, as well as feedback from tradeshows and call center questions.

The new Innova Pro line adds live data graphing; SRS coverage for Asian and domestic vehicles, expanded ABS coverage, and Honda OBD1, SRS and ABS coverage. The tools also include coverage for model year 2010 and newer OBD2-compliant diesel and medium-duty trucks.

Additionally, they include more memory to hold Innova’s current and future database of codes in English, French and Spanish, plus USB 2.0 functionality for faster downloads of updates and upgrades.

The Innova Pro CarScan line offers five different tools at various price points, with a variety of easy-to-use features and functions to meet a wide range of professional automotive diagnostic needs and requests. As with all Innova products, the CarScan tools in the Innova Pro line include a 1-year warranty, as well as a dedicated toll-free support line provided by Innova’s team of all ASE-certified technicians in English and Spanish, Monday – Saturday from 6 a.m. – 6 p.m. pacific time. Each product also includes access to the pro.innova.com repair solutions database.
