Hercules Recalls 90,000 Tires

Affected tires could experience tread separation causing a sudden loss in air, increasing the risk of vehicle users to lose control, the tiremaker said.

Hercules Tire & Rubber Co. is recalling nearly 90,000 All Trac A/T SUV tires due to a tread defect. Affected tires could experience tread separation causing a sudden loss in air, increasing the risk of vehicle users to lose control, the tiremaker said.

Tires in the recall were produced between June 2008 and May 2010.

Recalled tires include:

  • 235/70R16 106T, produced between June 17, 2008 and May 25, 2010
  • 235/75R15 109T XL, produced between July 1, 2008 and May 25, 2010
  • 245/70R16 107T, produced between June 17, 2008 and May 25, 2010
  • 255/70R16 111T, produced between June 17, 2008 and May 25, 2010
  • 265/70R16 112T, produced between June 17, 2008 and May 25, 2010
  • 265/75R16 116T, produced between July 22, 2008 and May 25, 2010
  • 275/70R16 114T, produced between March 26, 2009 and May 25, 2010

Hercules will notify owners and dealers of the recall and replace defective tires free of charge. Owners may also contact Hercules at 1-888-943-2402 or NHTSA’s vehicle safety hotline at 1-888-327-4236 for more information.
