Hercules Buying Florida’s Tire Distributor Inc.

Hercules Tire & Rubber Co. has acquired Tire Distributor Inc. USA, an independent tire wholesaler based in Miami. Specific terms of the deal were not announced. TDI has two distribution centers in Florida, and Hercules said it would open three more in the Southeast over the next 18 to 24 months. Hercules said the new operations would change their name to Tire Dealer’s Warehouse, part of Hercules’ U.S. operations.

Hercules Tire & Rubber Co. has acquired Tire Distributor Inc. USA, an independent tire wholesaler based in Miami. Specific terms of the deal were not announced.

TDI has two distribution centers in Florida, and Hercules said it would open three more in the Southeast over the next 18 to 24 months. Hercules said the new operations would change their name to Tire Dealer’s Warehouse, part of Hercules’ U.S. operations.

The two owners of TDI, Rocky McDonough and Tony Lugioyo, will stay on board as general managers of the Southeast division of Hercules.

“We are very pleased to bring TDI and its management team and employees into the Hercules family,” said Larry Seawell, Hercules’ president and CEO. “We had targeted the Southeast region for expansion given the opportunities for growth in that market, and it was important for us to find a strong operating platform in Florida that would allow us to expand our sales and distribution capabilities throughout the Southeast and into Latin America.”
