RESEARCH TRIANGLE PARK, N.C. The Heavy Duty Manufacturers Association (HDMA) has announced a new industry event, the Off-Highway Outlook Conference, to be held Oct. 1 at the Donald E. Stephens Convention Center in Rosemont, Ill. The conference is presented by both HDMA and SAE International, and immediately precedes SAE/ComVec.
“HDMA’s Outlook Conference series are developed for, and attended by, industry leaders from the commercial vehicle supplier, OEM executive, financial analyst and media communities. Our Off-Highway Equipment Outlook Conference has been developed with the same audience in mind. Our typical audience makeup is 65 percent directors and VPs, with 23 percent of attendees presidents, principals and C-level executives,” said Tim Kraus, president and chief operating officer of HDMA.
Topics and featured speakers will include Chicago Federal Reserve Senior Economist Bill Strauss, who will provide a high-level review of the economy. In addition, Longbow Research’s Eli Lustgarten will provide both Wall Street and Main Street perspectives on the major equipment manufacturers. A global view of the market for AG, CE and industrial equipment and their fundamentals will be discussed by Power Systems Research’s Dennis Huibregtse.
HDMA said a highlight of the program will be a keynote address and discussion with a noted authority on the energy industry, Robert Bryce. Bryce is the author of the book, “Power Hungry: The Myths of ‘Green’ Energy And The Real Fuels Of The Future.” The program will conclude with an in-depth discussion on megatrends for the global off-highway industry.
