GRI, a manufacturer of specialized tires for material handling, industrial, agriculture, off the road (OTR) and construction vehicles, is celebrating 15 years in business.
Based in Sri Lanka, the company has been supplying tires to more than 50 countries worldwide since 2002.
More than a decade since its establishment, GRI says it has experienced rapid growth and solid success. With a team of dedicated professionals who strive to drive the pioneering initiatives that have powered GRI to become a leading industrial and specialty tire producer, the company has seen success through global expansion and transference of best practices. With diversification in its industrial tire product range and the launch of an exclusively new product portfolio in agriculture, construction and port tires, GRI says it has earned a reputation as a company that “drives fast toward the future, with all its might.”
GRI began in 2002, when founder and managing director, Prabhash Subasinghe, built a solid tire manufacturing plant in Badalgama, 50km away from Colombo. The factory was built with the capacity to manufacture more than 400,000 tires annually. GRIs global reach now extends to more than 50 countries worldwide and a network of sales offices in six countries, covering the United States, Europe and Asia.
January 2017 saw the groundbreaking for GRI’s new Specialty Tire (ST) factory, on 10 acres of industrial land adjacent to its current solid tire factory. GRI says the new factory will be the largest and most advanced in Sri Lanka dedicated to produce specialty tires and the first to produce radial agriculture tires. Its production machines will signal a step-up in technological innovation, while its sustainable development focus will be evidenced by way of solar panels, biomass boilers and recyclable waste management systems. GRI’s GREENEX agriculture tires are developed with cutting-edge technology to ensure high load carrying capacity at low inflation pressure, reduced soil compaction, exceptional traction and superior self-cleaning properties. Its GRIPEX construction tires provide outstanding machine stability in demanding operations. These technologically advanced tires provide longer running hours, extensive tire life and superior performance. While GRI’s LIFTEX pneumatic tires have been developed for heavy-duty use on forklift trucks. These tires have a large footprint and a tread that assures optimal traction under every condition.
GRI’s state-of the art factory will be fully operational in January 2018. In addition to its customer promise of assured performance, GRI says its entry into the global ST market will rely on its in-depth knowledge of the development, production, research, innovation and global distribution of superior quality tires produced in Sri Lanka.
The new GRI campaign showcases its pioneering endeavors and the launch of its new product lines combined with passion and enthusiasm, accompanied by technical expertise and innovation with acknowledgement of GRI’s strong customer focus.
