ATLANTA Industry veteran Larry Samuelson has established a new executive coaching firm called The Samuelson Co. Samuelson retired as president of Genuine Parts Co.’s (GPC) U.S. Automotive Parts Group in 2009, after 35 years with the company.
According to Samuelson, his new firm specializes in providing trusted executive consultation, strategic business advice and leadership development to mid-market business owners and senior executives. Through individualized coaching, the firm helps clients define business goals, clarify strategy, assemble the best teams to accomplish goals, and drive business results.
In addition to his new business venture, Samuelson also is the Executive in Residence for Emory University’s Executive MBA program in Atlanta, Ga. He also recently delivered the opening keynote speech to Northwood University’s University of Aftermarket Leadership 2.0 Program in Midland, Mich., on September 9.
In his speech at Northwood on “Leadership Advice for Challenging Times,” Samuelson shared relevant and successful leadership examples and strategies from his own experience leading through challenging times. During his 35-year tenure with several Genuine Parts Co. (GPC/NAPA) divisions in the U.S. and Canada, he held various leadership positions, including president, COO and CEO.
To an audience of more than 50 students and professors in the advanced Leadership 2.0 Program, Samuelson stated, “Leadership success comes from an unwavering commitment to your company’s people, processes, performance and culture.” He added, “Winning the respect and support of your employees is critical for leading during challenging times.”
