First NEXUSAUTO Classic Car Tour Sets A High Bar

The four-day tour, which took place Sept. 28 through Oct. 1, took in some breathtaking scenery, along the French countryside – from Annecy to Eybens, Eybens to Charols, Charols to Gréoux-les-Bains, then Gréoux-les-Bains to St. Raphael.

The first ever NEXUSAUTO classic car tour has taken to the road, covering 700 kilometers (434 miles) of spectacular French countryside.

The event was organized by NEXUS Automotive International, in collaboration with GT ALP’EVENTS, with NEXUS members and suppliers taking part in a variety of classic and vintage cars, from an Opel GT6 to a Citroen 2CV.

The four-day tour, which took place Sept. 28 through Oct. 1, took in some breathtaking scenery, from Annecy to Eybens, Eybens to Charols, Charols to Gréoux-les-Bains, then Gréoux-les-Bains to St. Raphael. It also included a visit to two workshops in Chambéry and in Roquebrune, part of the fast-growing NEXUSAUTO network in France.

As a warm-up to the event, participants gathered at the “home” of NEXUS in Geneva before visiting the headquarters of N! suppliers NTN-SNR Europe and CLAS.

In addition to motoring in style, there were working sessions and presentations from suppliers and the presentation of the newly born start-up, Renovatio, a classic car spare parts network created by Benjamin Abitbol and Alexandr Garat.

Commenting on the tour, NEXUS CEO Gael Escribe said, “It was a spectacular weekend but while we had fun driving these fantastic cars, its purpose was to broaden our understanding of the classic and vintage car spare parts market and what we can contribute to it.

“The market is still unstructured but in recent years, interest in the sector has increased. We are determined that NEXUS and its progressive community will significantly contribute to its transformation through an active and dynamic approach. The NEXUSAUTO tour was only the first step to a classic car future and the development of a NEXUSAUTO Classic workshop concept,” Escribe said.

The NEXUSAUTO classic car tour was sponsored by N! suppliers Exide, NTN SNR Europe, Total, CLAS, Lumileds (Philips), Febi Bilstein, NRF and Hutchinson.
