SOUTHFIELD, MI — Abex brake products, a Federal-Mogul brand, has introduced a new line of premium replacement disc brake pads and new brake shoes for medium-duty vehicles. The new line was developed for use on fleet, school bus, emergency vehicle, utility, and other Class 2c-6 applications. Abex is the first brand to offer a complete line of new shoes and brake lining for medium-duty applications, according to the company.
The new Abex medium-duty product line combines the same engineering and manufacturing resources used in the company’s Class 7 and 8 categories.
Abex medium-duty brake pads and shoes feature carbon-based metallic friction formulations engineered for superior stopping power, exceptional fade resistance and extended service life. Abex commercial-grade brake pads feature Federal-Mogul’s integrally molded technology with reinforced friction-bond design for exceptional strength and long-life. Each Abex medium-duty pad also is post cured — allowing for significantly faster break-in -and features OE-matched shims, slots, chamfers and wear sensors. The pads also feature a black powder coat finish that enhances product appearance and ensures long-lasting corrosion protection.
New Abex medium-duty brake shoes feature new steel for longer life and better performance while eliminating the hassles and added costs associated with cores. Each shoe’s premium, OE-approved long-life friction material delivers excellent flexural strength, modulus of elasticity and fade resistance. Shoe sets are packaged with all OE-required pins and levers and protected with a durable black powder coat finish for long-lasting corrosion resistance.
