Epicor Smart Inspection 2.0 Shop Workflow Solution To Be Integrated With New CarMD PRO SCAN Diagnostic Tool

Optimized for mobile devices, the web-based solution helps service writers and technicians automate the inspection process and capture important data and images to be used in developing an estimate.

Epicor Software Corp. has announced that the Epicor Smart Inspection 2.0 automotive repair shop workflow solution will be integrated with the new CarMD PRO SCAN diagnostic tool from CarMD.com Corp. According to Epicor, the integration will enable shops to increase sales and productivity by helping them perform faster, more complete vehicle inspections, diagnostics and repairs.

Optimized for mobile devices, the web-based solution helps service writers and technicians automate the inspection process and capture important data and images to be used in developing an estimate. In addition to the data captured during a visual inspection, the solution will now import comprehensive diagnostic scan results — including OBD2 codes, pending trouble codes and possible causes of each — from the CarMD Device.

PRO SCAN, the first B2B product from CarMD, is a turnkey automotive business solution with full network scan capabilities. Dashboard and reporting options enable the shop to provide customers with important information about the health of their vehicles.

“We are very pleased to extend the capabilities of the Smart Inspection 2.0 solution to include capturing and communicating onboard diagnostics,” said Stephen Gannon, senior director, automotive, product management and product development, Epicor Software. “These integrated solutions can help shops eliminate diagnostic bottlenecks and streamline the repair process for increased sales and improved customer satisfaction.”
