MISSION VIEJO, CA — DST Inc. was recently honored by New York-based Parts Authority with its “Partner in Technology” award for 2005. DST’s integrated parts business management solution DSTWare manages the operations of Parts Authority’s ten locations in the metropolitan New York City area.

The award was presented at a gathering of almost 4,000 customers of Parts Authority at its “Spring Training” themed trade show. According to Howard Cohen, IT director for Parts Authority, the “Partner in Technology” award was presented to DST because DSTWare has enabled the company accomplish more technology initiatives than ever.

“For example, our customers can order online without any custom programs on their desktops, we’ve developed our own in-house suite of reports and applications based upon a data warehouse we could never build before, and significantly improved computing performance for the countermen taking orders,” Cohen said.

Randy Buller, Parts Authority president, said, “We replaced our former business management system with DSTWare and have been very pleased with how exceptionally well the changeover went. The new system has been a springboard to many other business opportunities. The speed and reliability of the DST system optimizes our business operations and supply chain initiatives. In fact, I can say the system is super-fast and super-reliable. DST provided the adaptability to customize the system to meet the unique business challenges of 2006 and beyond, particularly in the area of complex inventory management, while the inflexibility of other systems in our industry causes them to languish in the past.”

He elaborated further by noting, “We were able to tailor the DSTWare purchasing and replenishment package to manage our inventory like it is one big inventory instead of ten separate ones, preventing us from buying unwanted merchandise. We have complete visibility of all merchandise at all locations and we even have visibility into alternative brands. In today’s rapidly changing environment, such dual-line visibility is a must have…and we have it!”

Hoon Chung, DST’s President and CEO said, “In large measure, our continuing success is driven by an industry that increasingly recognizes DST as a clear alternative to restrictive ‘one-size-fits-all’ software. DSTWare allows our customers to create solutions which uniquely address their business requirements and will evolve as their business changes. Our approach offers superior business results with maximum investment protection and we are honored by the recognition of Parts Authority.”
