CRP Automotive To Feature ‘The Humble Mechanic’ During 2 In-Person Educational Sessions At AAPEX

In the first session, CRP says participants can learn what's breaking and how to fix it, as well as keeping the repair in your shop.

CRP Automotive, a leading source of OE-quality replacement and service parts, will be featuring Charles Sanville, host of the “The Humble Mechanic” podcast and YouTube channel, for two training sessions in its booth No. 3471 at AAPEX in Las Vegas.

At 10 a.m. on Oct. 31, participants can learn what’s breaking and how to fix it, as well as keeping the repair in your shop. Sanville will focus on the repair challenges with the chain driven engines in Audi and VW 2.0 TSI 2nd generation from 2008 to 2017. He will cover the common issues and how to identify them for customers, misdiagnosed issues and the missed opportunities for preventative maintenance. Key areas will include: intake manifolds, engine oil leaks, as well as turbo, fuel system, timing chain and tensioner failures.

At 10 a.m. on Nov. 1, Sanville talks about connecting with the “Mother Ship.” Are you losing business without a factory scan tool? Sanville will focus on the benefits of having a factory scan tool and its importance in today’s successful service environment. Key subjects will include: Online coding and programming for modules, software changes and updates, integrated repair manual/scan tool for VW and Audi, scan tool guided diagnosis and key programming.

All of the sessions will include a question and answer segment.

Do you speak spark plug? Most part numbers are a meaningless series of numbers and letters. But spark plugs have a language on the side of the box that can tell you what’s inside. Like any other language, there are dialects.

The nomenclature of spark plug part numbers can tell you everything from size (diameter and reach) to what materials are on the center and ground electrode. Like learning a new language, knowing how to translate spark plug numbers can open up a new way to inventory and sell spark plugs for counter professionals.
