ContiTech has partnered with the United Way of Summit County to collect school supplies for Akron Public Schools in an endeavor called, “Stuff the Box.” The company’s headquarters is located in Fairlawn, Ohio.
“Our corporate offices on Cleveland-Massillon Road will serve as one of the main collection points for these supplies,” said Chris Macko, ContiTech’s manager of the program. “Our goal is to collect as many as possible of the basic materials students need to succeed in the classroom, then deliver them to the Akron Public Schools by the time school starts in August.”
The United Way of Summit County will provide the collection bins to ContiTech and will accept items from now until Aug. 19. “We will also accept cash donations as well as the new school supplies,” said Macko. “The public is invited to drop off the items at our corporate offices at 703 S. Cleveland-Massillon Road in Fairlawn Monday through Friday, 7 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.”
The most needed items include: pens (black or blue), No. 2 pencils with erasers, large erasers, crayons, markers, folders, glue sticks, tissues, notebook paper (wide-ruled), plastic school boxes and pencil pouches.
