Continental, a leading global manufacturer of automotive and heavy-duty aftermarket products, has introduced this week at AAPEX 2016 an aftermarket handbook for installers to use as an aid in customer service in the service bays or showroom.
“The ‘Little Black Book’ is primarily for the professional repair technician to show the customer what could go wrong under the hood and what objective data supports his or her explanation,” said Tom Lee, Continental’s marketing manager for North American aftermarket products. “It’s another sales tool to help the technician bring the sale to fruition.”
The 5.5 x 7.5-inch handbook – in traditional Continental black with orange lettering – will have visual examples of possible failures in hose, belts, tensioners and timing products and include solid industry figures from AAA and the Auto Care Association to support the technician’s diagnosis.
“We believe this will be a valuable aid to both the technician and the distributor,” said Lee.
