HARTFORD, CT — ITW Permatex has acquired Anaerobicos S.A., a privately owned maker of adhesives and sealants headquartered in Buenos Aires, Argentina. Anaerobicos has been manufacturing silicones, cyanoacrylates, anaerobics, adhesives and other sealants since 1972.
The purchase was announced by Mike Zimmerman, general manager of Permatex, who noted, “Anaerobicos is an excellent acquisition for Permatex because it further expands our business base in Argentina and Brazil.”
John Deges, currently director of Sales and Marketing for Permatex Europe, will head the Anaerobicos operation. Deges, an Argentine native, will be moving to Buenos Aires for this new assignment.
Anaerobicos S.A. operates two industrial plants, a raw materials production facility in San Luis, Argentina, and a headquarters and manufacturing facility in San Martin, Buenos Aires, province. The Buenos Aires plant also houses the company’s central offices, state-of-the-art R&D laboratory and collapsible aluminum tubes manufacturing. The company employs more than 185 people in Argentina and Brazil.
AnaerÓbicos produces products under its own brand names of Trabasil, Ciano, Siloc, W80 and Pegamil. In Argentina, Anaerobicos has a strong presence in many markets including mass merchandise, consumer and automotive.
