LEESBURG, Va. The Automotive Training Managers Council (ATMC) today announced that Chair Darrell Rowe has retired from Bridgestone Retail Operations and subsequently stepped down from his position as chair of the ATMC board of directors. The board thanks Rowe for his years of service to the council, having served on the board since 2009 and previously as treasurer and vice chair.
In a special meeting, the ATMC board elected Holly Gerke, director of technical training for Penske Truck Leasing, as the new chair.
“I am honored to be elected chair of the ATMC Board,” said Gerke. “The work that is done by ATMC is powerful for our industry and I look forward to helping lead this organization as it continues to support the members in their efforts to provide high-quality training.”
She will serve out the remainder of Rowe’s 2014 term and is eligible for re-election to a term in 2015. Gerke is only the third woman member to serve in the leadership position in the council’s 30-year history, having been preceded by Janine Sine of TRW in 1988 and by Bonnie Karim of the U.S. Postal Service in 2002.
