Bosch Successfully Defends Brand And Trademark Against Counterfeits

A Federal court enters judgment in favor of Bosch based on joint stipulated motion.

Bosch - LogoRobert Bosch LLC announced that the United States District Court for the Middle District of Florida has entered a judgment in favor of Bosch regarding its complaint against North Shore Imports LLC (Case No. 8:16-cv-00942-T-24-MAP). The complaint alleged that the company offered for sale and sold counterfeit Bosch automotive aftermarket products.

The joint stipulated permanent injunction and final judgment prevents North Shore Imports from using the Bosch name and trademarks for the sale, advertising or promotion of non-genuine Bosch product as genuine Bosch product. It also calls for the return to Bosch of any of the product in question for destruction and payment of specified damages.

With this judgment, Bosch has succeeded in defending the BOSCH trademark in a series of eight lawsuits over the past two years. The company said it strongly believes that defense of its intellectual property is of vital importance not only to Bosch, but to the automotive aftermarket in total and will continue to seek out and take action against counterfeiters.

“Bosch has a zero tolerance policy against counterfeits, which are harmful to our industry,” said Enrico Manuele, regional president, Bosch Automotive Aftermarket North America. “We are pleased with the outcome of this action. It sends a clear message to would-be counterfeiters which we hope will discourage the spread of their activities in North America.”
