BOLT One-Key Technology Now Available In Australia And New Zealand

The BOLT lock technology permanently programs the lock to a vehicle's ignition key. When the ignition key is inserted into the BOLT Lock cylinder, spring-loaded plate tumblers move up and down to uniquely code the cylinder to that specific key.

Vehicle owners located Down Under can now take advantage of the added security and convenience built into the BOLT (Breakthrough One-Key Lock Technology) product line. STRATTEC Security Corp., one of the world’s largest manufacturers of automotive locks, keys and related access control products, has answered growing international demand for its products with the launch of the popular BOLT lock line in Australia and New Zealand. Detailed product and ordering information is now available for dealers and consumers through a new website, boltlock.com.au.

The BOLT lock technology permanently programs the lock to a vehicle’s ignition key. When the ignition key is inserted into the BOLT Lock cylinder, spring-loaded plate tumblers move up and down to uniquely code the cylinder to that specific key.

BOLT’s patented technology helps to deter theft and reduce key clutter by allowing use of the ignition key for numerous locks.

BOLT lock applications cover a wide range of region-specific vehicles from Chrysler, Chevrolet, Dodge, Ford, GMC, Jeep, Land Rover, Nissan, Subaru, Toyota and more. To correctly match the vehicle to the type of lock needed, the new BOLT Lock Oceania website offers a vehicle match tool that uses input from the dealer or driver to identify the exact BOLT lock for the application.

“Through our participation in the 2016 Australia Regional Business Development Program from the Specialty Equipment Market Association, which helped us make valuable business introductions, we will be launching the BOLT product line in both Australia and New Zealand. We have signed on manufacturer representative agency Syron. We are confident Tyrone Voigt and Syron have the right industry expertise and contacts to help us succeed in these new markets,” said Erika Garcia, national sales manager. “Now that we have distribution and our website is in place, dealers and consumers in the region can enjoy BOLT lock security and convenience for a variety of vehicles and related applications.”

Syron exhibited the BOLT Lock product line for the first time at the Explore Australia Expo in Brisbane in early September.

The extensive BOLT product line includes the Padlock, Toolbox Latch Retrofit Kit, Cable Lock, Coupler Pin Lock and Receiver Lock.

  • BOLT Cable Locks are made from 6-foot by 1/4-inch coiled cable and feature an automotive-grade lock shutter to keep out weather and debris as well as a six-plate tumbler sidebar that prevents picking and bumping.

  • BOLT Receiver Locks feature a durable, stainless steel pin and an automotive-grade stainless steel lock shutter, with an auto-return spring that automatically locks when the key is removed. 5/8-inch diameter stainless steel pins for Class III, IV and V receivers, and 1/2-inch for Class I and II receivers.
  • BOLT’s King Pin Locking System features a U-shaped black powder-coated hardened steel collar that wraps around the fifth wheel and attaches to a BOLT ⅝-inch receiver lock to securely hold the fifth wheel in place in the bed of the pickup.
