Bestop, a manufacturer of Jeep soft tops and accessories, has announced the launch of the Sunrider for Hardtop. The Sunrider for Hardtop replaces the Freedom Panels on Jeep Wrangler factory hardtops with an all-purpose, all-weather, year-round soft top that flips back easily for an open-air experience.
“Our job at Bestop is to provide Jeep enthusiasts with innovative, high-quality products that allow Jeepers to enjoy their on- and off-road adventures,” said Bestop CEO John Larson. “We believe that the new Sunrider for Hardtop provides that great experience. It is the first and only product that provides hardtop owners instant access to an open-air driving experience without leaving the front seat of their Jeep.”
To make sure that Jeep Wrangler owners know that this new all-season convertible top is now available, Bestop has rolled out a campaign called “Open Up and Breathe.” Larson adds, “At Bestop, we feel the Jeep experience requires open air.”
The Sunrider for Hardtop fits 2007-’16 JK Wrangler models. It comes ready-to-install, with mounting rails and hardware included. “In less than 30 minutes, with only an allen wrench, no drilling, grinding or fabricating, you can install the four-season SUNRIDER® FOR HARDTOP and enjoy the air, sun, moon and stars,” said Larson.
Installation of the Sunrider for Hardtop requires removal of the factory Freedom Panels – a relatively simple task that Bestop has decided to make fun. Beginning in March, Bestop is inviting consumers to take part in an online social media promotion, called “The Open Air Challenge.” The fun-spirited effort encourages consumers to share what they would do with their Freedom Panels for a chance to win a Sunrider for Hardtop. The lucky winners of the promotion will each receive a Sunrider for Hardtop.
“We don’t know what to expect with the entries – and that’s fueling the excitement around here,” said Bestop Marketing Director Garett Graubins. “We are likely to see everything from mural painted panels to sculptures to serving trays.”
The Sunrider for Hardtop will hit stores in mid-April. It will be available in durable, factory-style Black Sailcloth fabric or an ultra-premium Black Twill fabric. Retail costs are $599 and $699, respectively.
