Bendix is one of 46 Northeast Ohio companies named by Smart Business to the publication’s inaugural class of Business Longevity Award honorees.
Business Longevity Award recipients demonstrate the power of innovation and perseverance, as well as an innate ability to understand their respective customers and evolve to meet their needs. Honorees represent Northeast Ohio organizations with at least 50 years in business. Smart Business launched the awards in partnership with the Western Reserve Historical Society.
“It is a tremendous honor to be recognized as a business leader in our hometown,” said Berend Bracht, Bendix president and CEO. “We are proud to be represented alongside some of Northeast Ohio’s strongest organizations.”
Smart Business’ inaugural class of Business Longevity Award honorees represents a wide spectrum of industries and sizes. Recipients have been doing business from 51 years to 149 years, and counting. Bendix, a North American leader in the development and manufacture of active safety and braking solutions for commercial vehicles, was incorporated in 1930 and has been headquartered in Northeast Ohio since 1941.

“The support and commitment from the Northeast Ohio community is a vital part of our success and longevity as we strive to meet our core mission of helping to make roadways safer,” said Bracht. “In turn, Bendix maintains its dedication to improving the quality of life in the Northeast Ohio community.”
