BETHESDA, Md. The Automotive Warehouse Distributors Association (AWDA) announced the addition of its newest officers and governors following the conclusion of AAPEX 2012.
As of Nov. 2, AWDA’s new chairman is Tim Trudnowski, president, Automotive Jobbers Supply in Spokane, Wash. Trudnowski succeeds Bill Maggs, National Pronto Association, Grapevine, Texas, who successfully led the association through the previous 12 months and remains on the board as immediate past chairman.
Joining Trudnowski as AWDA’s new 2012-2013 officers will be vice chairman Dick Fairbanks, Orleans Auto Parts, Hyannis, Mass.; and entering the chairs as secretary is Corey Bartlett, Automotive Parts Headquarters, St. Cloud, Minn. Richard Beirne, United Auto Supply, LaCross, Wis., retains his position as AWDA treasurer.
“These new officers join a long and distinguished line of great leaders that have come through the AWDA chairs,” said Larry Northup, executive director, AWDA. “Their commitment to the industry is inspiring. It’s truly an honor to work with them.”
Also joining the AWDA Board as new governors are:
· Michelle MacKenzie-Menendez, MacKenzie Warehouse, San Francisco, Calif.
· Scott Bennett, Bennett Auto Supply, Pompano Beach, Fla.
· Robert Segal, MAAP, Automotive Supply Associates Inc., Concord, N.H.
· Brent Windom, Uni-Select Inc., Kennesaw, Ga.
“AWDA’s nominating committee insists that, if asked, any incoming governor must be qualified to serve as chairman,” said Northup. “The result of this long-standing tradition is a consistent supply of high-quality board members who are interested, engaged and committed to traditional distribution, the aftermarket and their association.”
In the coming year, AWDA will support multiple projects designed to enhance the position of traditional distribution in the aftermarket. These will include further promotion of best practices for processing warranty claims and the development of data and tools to engage and attract the best and brightest young people to our industry. AWDA says it also will continue its long tradition of supporting industry education through sizeable donations to the University of the Aftermarket Foundation.
