BOLOGNA, Italy – AutopromotecEDU, taking place as part of Autopromotec 2015 in Bologna, Italy, this May, will host a meeting dedicated to IVCS (in-vehicle communication systems). This will be the topic for this year’s International Automotive Aftermarket Meeting (IAAM15). This is the fifth time IAAM will take place as part of Autopromotec.
IAAM15, which takes place on the second day of the show – May 21 – will provide in-depth analysis and strategic prospects of the main ongoing international trends from some of the most renowned industry organizations and association members.
This year’s focus will be on the latest innovative technologies in the automotive industry, with special attention being given to in-vehicle information and communication technologies, as well as the challenges these pose to industry operators. With this in mind, the organizers decided to name the event:
“Connected vehicle – connected business: opportunities and challenges for the Aftermarket.”
Josef Frank, former director, Aftermarket, CLEPA (European Association of Automotive Suppliers) will chair the meeting.
“The automotive industry is the ‘epicenter’ of a strong orientation toward in-vehicle communication systems that is having a major impact on our society,” Frank said. “In fact, today’s vehicles are real ‘computers on wheels,’ with electronic components that are more and more sophisticated and connected with the outside world. Therefore, IAAM15 represents an important opportunity for the aftermarket community to discuss topics, trends and solutions relating to this rapidly changing environment.
After the opening speech, held by ANFIA (Italian Association of the Automotive Industry), the meeting will feature a dynamic lineup of sector experts. Some renowned guest speakers have already been confirmed:
Luca Montagner, associate director ICDP Italy (International Car Distribution Programme), will provide an update on turnover, operators and market shares and show perspectives regarding value and number of jobs in the repair business in 2020.
Alberto Bernini, director, aftermarket, Bosch Italy, will provide a global overview of the “connected” world, pointing out expectations for the automotive industry and
the aftermarket business.
Wolfgang Meyer, senior adviser CLEPA, will explain how the European Commission is involved with creating a level playing field for the automotive aftermarket. He will specifically focus on in-vehicle telematics solutions and the European corporate intelligent transport system (C-ITS) initiative.
Jürgen Buchert, CEO, TecAlliance, will show “hands-on” business solutions for trade and workshops to be “connected,” and get actively involved in this huge economic opportunity.
IAAM15 is posed to be a top-level event, thanks particularly to an audience made up of industry professionals coming from all over the world (on behalf of vehicle and components manufacturers, independent distributors and aftersales networks) that will also join in on the discussion.
The complete IAAM15 conference schedule, including the full list of guest speakers, will be available soon at www.autopromotec.com.
