According to a report from the Detroit Free Press, Chevy will cut all promotions related to college sports and smaller sports such as skiing, and will advertise only during games.
GM and Ford Motor Co. have also cut back on sports marketing initiatives, according to the Free Press. GM will not advertise during the Super Bowl and is debating whether or not to continue the relationship between its Buick brand and golfer Tiger Woods.
Ford said it will stop financial support to race teams in NASCAR’s nationwide and truck series next year.
