SAN ANTONIO — Aftermarket Auto Parts Alliance Inc., representing Auto Value and Bumper to Bumper, has announced the appointment of three certified service center owners to the Automotive Aftermarket Industry Association’s (AAIA) new Car Care Professional Network (CCPN).
Mick Cipolla, owner of Courteous Car Care, Largo, FL, and Tom Lund, owner of Tom’s Automotive Maintenance and Alta View Tires, Sandy, UT, both conducting business as Bumper to Bumper and Jim Dykstra, co-owner of Dykstra’s Auto Service, Hudsonville, MI, using the Auto Value brand, have all been named to the CCPN.
The mission of the newly formed CCPN, according to AAIA, is to “represent, support and improve automotive service and repair businesses, by providing a national platform and to promote communication and networking between service professionals, manufacturers, distributors and others.”
Not only do the three men named above serve on the CCPN, they also are members of local advisory councils representing other Auto Value and Bumper to Bumper professionals. Their purpose is to examine the industry within their own market, review national programs and help plan for the future.
Cipolla, Lund and Dykstra also serve on the National Service Dealer Advisory Council of Auto Value and Bumper to Bumper. The fourteen members that form the council were nominated by their warehouse/distributors and commit to a four-year term. This will be the first year for Cipolla to serve on the council while Lund begins his second and Dykstra completes his four-year term. The goal of the National Council is to take information gathered from local and regional councils and disseminate it into usable, pertinent data that can be incorporated into the planning and budgeting process of the upcoming year and 3-5 year plan.
“Mick, Jim and Tom all bring a lot to our council,” said Richard Morgan, president and CEO of Aftermarket Auto Parts Alliance. “They’re smart and savvy about our industry and their own businesses. Each is a success story in their own right and continually seeks ways to grow their business. That’s who I’d want representing me, if I was a shop owner.”
