Auto Value/Bumper to Bumper Awards $32,000 in College Scholarships

From all eligible applications, 32 students were selected to receive a $1,000 scholarship to be used at the trade school, college or university of their choice for the fall 2011 semester.

SAN ANTONIO, Texas — Auto Value/Bumper to Bumper has awarded scholarships to employees and/or their children to assist in their post-high school education for the past 15 years. Since the program began, more than a quarter of a million dollars has been dedicated to helping employees and their family members continue their education.

Students seeking a scholarship wrote a 200-word essay on “What I hope to accomplish through my post high school graduation.” From all eligible applications, 32 students were selected to receive a $1,000 scholarship to be used at the trade school, college or university of their choice for the fall 2011 semester.

“Continuing education can be expensive and we don’t want anyone to choose attending school or not based on financial resources. That was the main reason we created this scholarship program,” said Dave Kimbell, chairman of the Auto Value/Bumper to Bumper Education Committee. “It was hard judging submissions because they all were worthy. We’re pleased that we are able to do this for our associates and their families.”
