ArvinMeritor’s Chip McClure Named Automation Alley’s 2007 “Legend CEO”

TROY, MI — ArvinMeritor Chairman, President and CEO Chip McClure has been named 2007 "Legend CEO" by Automation Alley – a business technology consortium of more than 850 businesses, educational institutions and government entities covering an eight-county area and the city of Detroit.

Automation Alley’s Legend CEO Award recognizes individuals who have made life-long, pivotal contributions that have influenced and helped develop southeast Michigan’s technology community.

"I am honored to receive this award from one of the nation’s premier technology business associations, and one that is so integral to the growth and image of southeast Michigan’s economy," said McClure. "Automation Alley’s approach to technological advancement – which centers on driving growth through a collaborative culture focused on workforce and business development initiatives – is key to continued technological development in this area of the country, which plays such a significant role in the nation’s economy."

McClure has more than 25 years of diverse leadership experience in the motor vehicle industry. He joined ArvinMeritor in 2004 and is refocusing and transforming the company through a combination of performance improvement initiatives, restructuring measures and global market growth.

McClure is a member of the President’s Advisory Group of the U.S. Chamber of Commerce and the Business Roundtable, and is on the Board of Directors of the National Association of Manufacturers (NAM), Detroit Regional Chamber of Commerce, R.L. Polk and Company, Detroit Renaissance, Horizons Upward Bound and the Detroit Investment Fund. In addition, he is a member of the Committee Encouraging Corporate Philanthropy (CECP).
