FALLS CHURCH, Va. —The Automotive Maintenance and Repair Association (AMRA) and Motorist Assurance Program (MAP), the consumer outreach program of AMRA, will host its annual membership meeting Nov. 2 in Las Vegas, during Automotive Aftermarket Industry Week.
The annual meeting will begin at 8 a.m. with a continental breakfast, followed by the general business portion of the meeting. This will include the installation of new board members and updates from various committees.
After a networking break, featured speaker Elizabeth Owen will take the podium. Owen is the executive director of the National Association of Consumer Agency Administrators (NACAA), and has served in that position since the fall of 2003. Previously, she spent nine years as the director of the Tennessee Division of Consumer Affairs and also was the head of her own consulting company. Owen will present ways the AMRA membership can create positive relationships with the various state administrators for Consumer Affairs to help them to understand how the auto repair industry does business.
Following the conclusion of the meeting, all attendees are invited to remain for a networking luncheon. The cost to attend the meeting and luncheon is $50 for AMRA members; $100 for non-members. AMRA/MAP will have booths at both the AAPEX and CARS shows during Industry Week, and both will be in new locations. The location at AAPEX will be Booth #529 (changing from the lower level to the upper level), while AMRA/MAP can be found at Booth #C9202 at CARS.
