Aftermarket Auto Parts Alliance Holds Annual Meeting and Vendor Awards Banquet

During the Annual Awards Banquet, outstanding vendors were recognized.

SAN ANTONIO — The shareholders of Aftermarket Auto Parts Alliance Inc. (Alliance) gathered Dec. 7-10 in Boca Raton, Fla., for their annual winter meeting.

The meeting is a culmination of the past year’s efforts of the Alliance, which markets for Auto Value/Bumper to Bumper parts stores and certified service centers. Reports and breakout meetings focusing on marketing, product, information technology and education were reviewed.

“Our winter meeting is a vital part of the success of our organization as it sets the tone for the upcoming year,” said Richard Morgan, president and CEO of Alliance. “Plans and goals are reviewed, new vendors are approved and our attendees, members and vendors alike, get the chance to build and strengthen their relationships.”

During the Annual Awards Banquet, outstanding vendors were recognized. Morgan stated, “Our vendors work hard to meet and exceed our members’ needs and their efforts are rewarded with this recognition. They represent the entire company and all of the employees who each play an important role in their success, and our own.”

Morgan presented the following awards:
• Supplier of the Year-Category I, WIX Filters
• Supplier of the Year-Category II, Gates Rubber Co.
• Supplier of the Year-Category III, ACi
• Outstanding Manpower Support, WIX Filters
• Outstanding Promotion, Monroe Ride Control
• Outstanding Private Label Vendor, WIX Filters
• Outstanding Training Support, Standard Motor Products
• Outstanding Marketing Support, Monroe Ride Control
• Mexico Marketing Partner, Alliance Parts Warehouse
• Outstanding Technology Partner, GCommerce

Outstanding Shipping Performance-Bronze Level was for vendors obtaining 95.0-96.9 percent shipping performance for the year. Recipients were Amrep, BBB Industries, Continental Battery, Cyclo Industries, Delphi Products, Exide Technologies, Gates Rubber Co., KD Tool, Mevotech, Morse Automotive, PartsMaster Filters, Power Max Wires, Remy International, Robert Bosch, Standard Wire, UQuality Auto Parts, USA Industries, Walker Exhaust and WIX Filters.

Outstanding Shipping Performance-Silver Level vendors with a 97.0-98.9 percent fill rate were ASC Industries, Cloyes Gear, Coni-Seal, Curt Manufacturing, Dayco Products, East Penn Manufacturing, GoJo Industries, Goodyear, IAP/Dura, K&N Engineering, Monroe Ride Control, PartsMaster Wire, Permatex, Peterson Mfg. and Universal Mfg.

Outstanding Shipping Performance-Gold Level outstanding shipping performance vendors achieved 99 percent or above during 2008. These exceptional vendors were Advanced Refinish Technologies, ATP, CompressorWorks, Duragloss, NGK Spark Plugs, Oil Dri, PartsMaster Oil and Spectra Premium.
