From Engine Builder
CRYSTAL LAKE, Ill. Paul Hauglie from Jackson, Mich., is now set to take the helm as president of the Engine Builders Association (AERA). Hauglie comes to the association after a long career with Melling Engine Parts that began in 1996 where he started as a customer service rep.
Hauglie moved into the sales department at Melling as a district sales manager at the end of 1997 and formed relationships with customers and industry manufacturers. In 2002, he moved from a district position to a territory position, covering the northeastern portion of the U.S. Midway through 2006, he took on additional responsibilities as Canadian sales manager and performance product manager.
"I have a big heart for engine builders and really believe in the job they do," Hauglie said. "My goal is for them to be as successful as possible and to have AERA be a big part of that success. I believe my experience from the manufacturing side will serve a springboard to bring AERA to a prominent, positive fixture in the automotive aftermarket."
Hauglie was born and raised in Jackson, Mich. He is married and the father of three. He has a bachelor of science in public relations from Western Michigan. He is expected to begin his responsibility in August from AERA headquarters in Crystal Lake, Ill.
