AAMCO Selects Activant’s Integrated Service Estimator Solution for Use with Franchise POS System

With approximately 900 locations across North America, AAMCO has been ranked as one of the top automotive repair franchise opportunities for nine consecutive years by Entrepreneur magazine.

LIVERMORE, Calif. – AAMCO Transmissions Inc., a franchisor of transmission repair and total car care service centers, has selected the Activant Integrated Service Estimator (ISE) solution to help its service center owners and their employees produce significantly faster, more complete and accurate service estimates.

With approximately 900 locations across North America, AAMCO has been ranked as one of the top automotive repair franchise opportunities for nine consecutive years by Entrepreneur magazine. Its franchisees utilize an advanced business management and point-of-sale solution called AAMCO FOCUS.

The Activant ISE is a web-based estimating solution that can be readily integrated into virtually any modern general-automotive, tire, muffler, lube or other shop management platform, says Activant. AAMCO franchisees will utilize the solution to eliminate phone calls and other time-consuming steps currently involved in identifying and pricing parts, transmitting parts orders, quoting labor, documenting application-specific service intervals and tracking vehicle repair history, according to Brian O’Donnell, senior vice president of operations for AAMCO.

“One of AAMCO’s goals is to help franchise owners maximize their business efficiency and profitability through world-class systems and technologies,” O’Donnell said. “Activant’s Integrated Service Estimator is the most versatile and complete estimating tool we have seen. Our centers will be able to check their suppliers’ inventories online, create accurate customer orders and even expand into higher margin maintenance services while reducing time-consuming phone calls.”

Tom Aliotti, senior vice president and general manager of the Activant automotive business group, said AAMCO is an “early adopter” of advanced business management technologies that will help revolutionize front-line operations within North American service chains.

“As these networks continue to expand their range of services, it becomes more difficult to get the customer in and out the door quickly. The Activant Integrated Service Estimator solution helps accelerate front-line operations while dramatically expanding users’ sourcing options to leading distributors and jobbers through the Activant AConneX gateway. Each of these capabilities and more can be integrated into most existing shop management platforms.”

Activant ISE provides access to the Activant PartExpert replacement parts database, Activant Cover-to-Cover graphical eCatalog module, Activant LaborExpert flat rate labor guide, and Activant EZWrite pre-loaded repair packages. The solution also links users to the thousands of parts providers that rely on the Activant AConneX gateway and Internet AutoParts sourcing solutions. The Activant ISE solution can be used as a comprehensive, time-saving estimating system or integrated with a shop management solution to identify, organize and transfer parts and labor to the work order.
