SOUTHFIELD, Mich. – Federal-Mogul has announced that its MOOG steering and suspension line now includes 39 new parts for millions of additional late-model foreign nameplate and domestic vehicles.

Among the new parts are right and left front lower control arms featuring premium-quality integral MOOG ball joints for more than 1.1 million four-wheel-drive Dodge Dakota (2000-2004) and Durango (2000-2003) models and more than 7.7 million GM light trucks and SUVs, including Cadillac Escalade and Chevrolet Avalanche, Express 1500 and 2500, and Silverado 1500 applications ranging from the 1999 through 2008 model years. Each MOOG control arm has a ball joint featuring the brand’s signature “gusher” bearing, which allows grease to penetrate all load-bearing surfaces for longer life, the company says. These integral ball joints also include full-ball studs that provide 360 degrees of smooth, even rotational movement for more responsive steering, and grease fittings as well as premium MOOG boots for serviceability and superior durability, according to Federal-Mogul.

The MOOG product team also added six new sway bar link kits covering a variety of popular foreign nameplate and domestic applications, two new tie rod ends and 20 additional constant-rate coil springs, among other parts. Federal-Mogul says it continued to expand the new MOOG R-Series line of original equipment-style control arm assemblies, with new SKUs for Chevrolet Colorado (2004-2007), GMC Canyon (2004-1010), Chevrolet Cavalier (1995-2005), Pontiac Sunfire (1995-2005), Chrysler Sebring (1995-2000), Dodge Avenger (1995-2000), Mitsubishi Galant (1996-1998) and Volkswagen Passat (2006-2008) models.

“In 2012, we are continuing the same aggressive approach to product line growth that helped us introduce a record number of new parts to the MOOG line in 2011,” said Mark Boyle, director, steering and suspension products, Federal-Mogul. “Each of these parts addresses a proven service opportunity for today’s automotive repair businesses. And our continued focus on industry-best coverage of the foreign nameplate category is helping shops earn the loyalty of a new generation of customers.”
