MILAN, Ohio – Greg Merriweather has been appointed senior product manager for Corteco, the aftermarket business of Freudenberg-NOK Sealing Technologies (FNST). His appointment was announced by Craig Stark, director of sales, marketing, product engineering and customer service for Corteco.

“Greg is a widely-respected and talented individual, and we are extremely fortunate to now have him on our management team. His wealth of experience and familiarity with the industry will be a big benefit to our customers,” said Stark.

In this newly created position, Merriweather will be responsible for Corteco’s TransTec brand automatic transmission and power steering product lines, as well as products supplied to OE service customers.  His purview will include the responsibilities of John Wozniak, transmission product manager for Corteco, who will retire in February, 2012. Merriweather’s primary focus will be leading and directing a fast-paced product development process for the three business segments by utilizing innovation and asset management.

"I am excited about this opportunity to join the FNST team. The Corteco name and TransTec brand are known for quality and reliability in the industry,” said Merriweather.  “I look forward to working with the team in extending this legacy by developing products that meet and exceed customer expectations."

Merriweather was most recently employed with Jacobsen (A Textron Company) in North Carolina, as engineering manager, and has worked in the engineering field for more than 15 years. He has a proven track record for developing new products, implementing new processes, managing cross-functional teams and developing talent. One of his most notable achievements came while working at Daimler Chrysler, when he and his team successfully designed and launched the first heavy-duty, six-speed automatic transmission (AS68RC) for Dodge trucks.

Merriweather holds a bachelors of science degree in mechanical engineering from Tennessee State University and a master of science in mechanical engineering from Wayne State University. He will relocate with his family from Charlotte, N.C., to the Northeast Ohio area in the coming months.
