SOUTHFIELD, Mich. -- Federal-Mogul has introduced a new line of MOOG complete strut assemblies, engineered to improve vehicle dynamics, provide a smoother ride, last longer and install easily. New MOOG complete strut assemblies are available now for hundreds of popular late-model foreign nameplate and domestic passenger cars and light trucks, according to the company.

Federal-Mogul says the new line is manufactured to the same quality standards that have made MOOG products the trusted choice of professional technicians. According to Federal-Mogul, MOOG complete strut assemblies enable shops to save time while performing a complete strut replacement. Each unit is fully pre-assembled for fast, easy, bolt-on installation and features a premium nitrogen gas-charged strut engineered specifically for the corresponding application.

To help shops avoid leakage concerns, MOOG engineers developed a unique triple piston rod seal design that the company says helps lock out contaminants and prevent fluid loss. Each strut also features a highly polished, hard-chrome-finish piston rod for superior strength and sealing performance and a sophisticated valving technology that provides OE-style ride quality and control, according to the company. The company adds that to help ensure exceptional performance and reliability, MOOG complete strut assemblies must pass Federal-Mogul’s original equipment-style durability test, which includes one million cycles of the assembled unit.

Also included in each assembly are a high-strength spring top plate; MOOG jounce bumper molded from advanced micro-cellular polyurethane to absorb noise, vibration and harshness; application-specific coil spring manufactured from premium steel for consistent performance; a robust, original equipment-style mounting bracket; and, for many applications, OE-style installation lower mounting hardware.

“Our engineers have designed each MOOG strut assembly unit to help improve vehicle handling, provide superior ride quality and deliver the performance customers expect,” said Mark Boyle, director, steering and suspension products, Federal-Mogul. “Repair providers are looking for strut assemblies from suppliers and brands they can trust. By choosing MOOG, they will be installing a part that will live up to the standards of MOOG customers.”
