ANN ARBOR, Mich. MAHLE Clevite Inc. has named Dave Arce as the winner
of the MAHLE Clevite Champion Technician contest, a contest designed to honor
the skills and experience of engine technicians and specialists nationwide.
Arce earned the title thanks to a short essay submitted by his daughter, Hollee
Arce. The essay depicts Arce’s passion, experience and career accomplishments
as a talented engine specialist.
According to the essay,
Arce recently fulfilled his life-long dream of being the proprietor of a
self-contained automotive center specializing in engine machining, rebuilding
and balancing, as well as in fuel injection service and general automotive
repair. Additionally, Arce is an AERA member and ASE certified Master Engine
Machinist. He was recognized as the top engine builder in San
Diego (2000), and has built several winning race engines for the Lucas Oil
Modified series.
“From rebuilding engines
in his spare time to building several winning race engines and fulfilling his
dream of owning his own business Dave Arce’s accomplishments show that he is
truly a ’champion’ in every aspect,” said Ted Hughes, manager marketing for
MAHLE Clevite. “We are pleased to present Dave with this award and wish him
continued success in his career.”
As MAHLE Clevite Champion
Technician, Arce received a VIP trip to NASCAR Sprint Cup Series Champion’s
Week in Las Vegas (Nov. 30 to Dec. 3, 2011), including coach airfare for two, a
three-night hotel stay and a special meet-and-greet with a NASCAR personality.
The award also included a MAHLE Clevite VIP dinner with MAHLE Engine Builder of
the Year, Doug Yates; two tickets to NASCAR Victory Lap and NASCAR After The
Lap, tickets to the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series Awards Ceremony, a feature on the
MAHLE website and social networking sites and a commemorative plaque.
